We’ve come a long way

It all began in a little workshop founded in 1941 by Firmino Savio in the heart of the historic centre of Florence. After initially producing light fittings and chandeliers, the firm’s crafting activities soon broadened to include the production of carved wood mirrors, decorated with gold leaf and semi-precious stones.

Thanks to these refined creations, in the early 1950’s the firm also made a name for itself abroad, particularly in the United States, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

The second generation

On the death of the founder of Savio Firmino, his sons took over the reins. Guido continued in his father’s footsteps and became responsible for art direction, while his brother Amedeo dealt with the commercial side of the business.

The Collezione Ambiente Notte and Bed 1696

Firm’s new premises

The Firm has continued to grow from the 1940’s until the present day gaining increasing success in the international market and expanding its range of products. In 1990 the Firm’s new premises on the Scandicci (Florence) industrial estate were inaugurated, an area where the leading brands of Italian design and fashion are present. Meanwhile the Firm continued its evolution, passing from an artisan to an industrial dimension.

The Collezione Notte Fatata

On the birth of his grand-daughter Viola, in 2008, Guido Savio created the Collezione Notte Fatata, a collection designed to meet the needs of children and at the same time in line with the style of Savio Firmino.

The Collezione Bagno

The evolution continued with the creation of the Collezione Bagno, a collection with classic lines but with an eye on the comfort necessary for bathroom environments.

The third generation

In the meantime Guido’s and Amedeo’s children took on a central role in the Company’s art direction and commercial management. Since 2011 Michela, Cosimo and Gregorio Savio have flanked their parents, bringing new impulse to the development of Savio Firmino.

Love is a White Horse
